# Customise your view

The *Enquiry Bank* has a set of quality-of-life controls that let you tailor what the table shows without touching any data. They decide which columns appear and in what order, which hover previews are active, which status is pre-selected on load, and whether the list is narrowed to enquiries waiting to be sent. Every one of these is a **display preference** — nothing here changes an enquiry, and nobody else's view is affected.

Almost all of these preferences are saved **per device in your browser's local storage**, not on your account. Configure them once on this machine and they stick on this machine; open the app on a different computer, browser, or after clearing site data and you start from the defaults again. The one exception is *Show queued only*, which lives in the page URL for the current session rather than being remembered.

## Open the options menu

1. Open *Sales* in the sidebar and click *View*. The page heading reads *Enquiry Bank*.
2. Click the sliders button (the icon at the **top right** of the page, next to the heading). A menu opens with everything below.

The menu is split into three blocks separated by divider lines, and the less-used items sit in submenus:

- **View** — *Toggle Columns*, *Tooltip Visibility*, *Default Status* (the customisation controls this page covers).
- **Search & Organize** — *Search* (with *Advanced Search* and *Search Quotation Number*) and *Folders* (with *Manage Folders*).
- **Shortcuts** — *Show queued only* and *Customer Follow-up*.

This page documents the *View* block and *Show queued only* in full. The *Search & Organize* items and *Customer Follow-up* have their own pages — see [Advanced search](/docs/enquiry-bank/advanced-search), [Enquiry folders](/docs/enquiry-bank/folders), [Generate a quotation](/docs/enquiry-bank/generate-quotation), and [Customer follow-up](/docs/enquiry-bank/follow-up). For the overall page layout and filters, see [Browse the enquiry bank](/docs/enquiry-bank/enquiry-bank-list).

## Toggle Columns

Choose *Toggle Columns* from the menu. A submenu titled *Columns* lists every column in the table, each with a tick (to show or hide it) and a grip handle on the left (to drag it into a new order). Changes take effect on the table immediately.

### Show or hide a column

Tick a column to show it, untick it to hide it. Your visible set is remembered per device. The columns and their **out-of-the-box visibility** are:

| Column | Shown by default | What it displays |
|---|---|---|
| *Customer* | Yes | Customer name (truncated past 30 characters), with the customer hover preview |
| *CP* | Yes | Contact person name, with the contact-person hover preview |
| *Product* | Yes | Every product line on the enquiry, with the product hover preview |
| *Quantity* | Yes | Quantity + unit for each product line |
| *Price/Unit* | Yes | Price per unit for each line, with the price hover preview |
| *Total* | Yes | Line total **excluding tax** — quantity × price after any discount, summed and shown as `₹...` |
| *Enquiry No* | Yes | The enquiry number (truncated past 10 characters, full value on hover) |
| *Quotation No* | **No** | The short quotation/offer number, or `—` if none has been generated |
| *Date Of Enquiry* | Yes | The date the enquiry was received |
| *Status* | Yes | Current status (`Pending`, `Submitted`, `Regret`, `Lost`, `PO Arrived`) |
| *PO Number* | **No** | The customer's PO number once a PO has arrived |
| *PO Date* | **No** | The customer's PO date |
| *Folder* | **No** | The folder the enquiry sits in, coloured to match the folder |
| *Created By* | Yes | The user who raised the enquiry (upper-cased) |
| *Actions* | Yes | The *View* link (and, in queued mode, a *Send Mail* shortcut) |

The *Total* column is a subtotal after discount but **before tax**, so it will not match a quotation's grand total, which adds tax and any additional charges.

### Reorder columns

Drag the grip handle to the left of a column name up or down. A live preview shifts the other rows as you drag, and the order is saved when you drop. The order applies to the table left-to-right in the same sequence.

### Reset

The *Reset* link in the top-right of the *Columns* submenu header restores the **default visibility and the default order** in one click. Use it if you have hidden something important or scrambled the layout.

The *Actions* column is toggleable like any other — you can hide it, which also hides the *View* link and the queued *Send Mail* shortcut. If that happens, open *Toggle Columns* and press *Reset* to bring it back.

## Tooltip Visibility

Choose *Tooltip Visibility* from the menu. A submenu titled *Tooltips* lists four hover previews, each with a tick. When a preview is on, an info icon appears next to the relevant cell and hovering it opens a small card. Turn any of them off if you find the cards distracting — or to avoid the extra lookups they trigger. All four are **on by default**, and the setting is remembered per device.

Each card is fetched lazily the moment you hover, so switching a tooltip off also stops those background lookups.

### Customer

Hovering the info icon next to a customer name shows:

- *Name* — the customer's full name.
- *GST No* — the customer's GST number.

A pen icon inside the card opens the customer edit modal, so you can correct details without leaving the list.

### Contact Person

Hovering next to a contact-person name shows:

- *Name* — the contact person's name.
- *Email* — their email address.
- *Phone* — their phone number.
- *Post* — their designation.

A pen icon opens the contact-person edit modal.

### Product

Hovering a product name opens a wider card with:

- *Product Head* — the parent product head, with an *Edit* button.
- *Product Code* — the product code, with an *Edit* button.
- *Code Description* and *Custom Description* — the rich-text descriptions on the code (or "No description" when empty).
- *HSN Code* and *Make* — the HSN code and any make/brand chips.

### Price/Unit

Hovering the info icon on a price shows the per-line money breakdown:

- *Total Amount* — quantity × price per unit.
- *Discount (n%)* — the discount amount at the line's discount percentage.
- *Amount after Discount* — total minus discount.
- *Amount with Tax (n%)* — the after-discount amount plus the line's tax percentage.

All values are shown in rupees to two decimals.

### Reset

The *Reset* link in the *Tooltips* submenu header switches **all four previews back on**.

## Default Status

Choose *Default Status* from the menu. Pick the status that should be pre-applied every time you first open the *Enquiry Bank*. The chosen status shows as a small badge on the menu item. The options are the same as the page's status filter:

- *All* — no default; the page opens showing every status. **This is the default.**
- *Pending*
- *Submitted*
- *Regret*
- *Lost*
- *PO Arrived*

For example, if you mostly work on pending enquiries, set the default to *Pending* and the status filter is already applied when you arrive — no need to pick it each visit. You can still change the status filter freely during the session; the default only decides the **first load**.

The default applies only when you open the page with **no filters in the address** — that is, a plain visit to the bank. If you follow a link that already carries filters (for example a saved advanced-search link, or a "view these enquiries" jump from another screen), the link's filters win and your default status is skipped for that visit, so the link shows exactly what it was meant to.

The *Reset* link in the *Default Status* submenu header clears the default back to *All*.

## Show queued only

Choose *Show queued only* from the *Shortcuts* block. The list narrows to enquiries that have been **queued for sending but not yet dispatched**. A count badge on the menu item tells you how many enquiries are currently queued, and a tick appears when the filter is active. Pick the item again to turn it off.

The same toggle is also available as a *Queued (n)* chip that appears under the filter row whenever there is at least one queued enquiry; clicking the chip does the same thing.

When queued mode is on:

- Each queued row that you have permission to send gains a *Send Mail* shortcut in the *Actions* column, which opens the quotation send modal directly — no need to open the enquiry first. This shortcut appears only for rows that are genuinely queued and only if you hold the *Send Offer* permission; without it the shortcut is not shown (and the backend enforces the same permission on send). See [Generate a quotation](/docs/enquiry-bank/generate-quotation).
- The queued filter combines with the other filters rather than replacing them. If a customer, product, or status filter is also set, the list shows queued enquiries **that also match those filters**. To see every queued enquiry, clear the other filters first.

Unlike the column, tooltip, and default-status preferences, *Show queued only* is **not** saved per device. It lives in the page's address for the current session, so a fresh visit to the bank always starts with it off.

## Common questions

### Do other users see my column layout or tooltip choices?

No. Column visibility and order, tooltip visibility, and your default status are stored locally in your own browser. Every user — and every device — configures their own view independently. There is no shared or account-synced setting here.

### I accidentally hid all my columns (or the View link) — how do I fix it?

Open *Toggle Columns* and click *Reset* in the top-right of the *Columns* panel. All columns return to their default visibility and order, including the *Actions* column that holds the *View* link.

### My preferences vanished — why?

These preferences live in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data / site storage, switching to a different browser or device, or using a private window resets them to the defaults. Reconfigure them on the device you use and they will persist there.

### Why doesn't my Default Status apply when I open the bank from a link?

The default only applies to a plain visit with no filters in the address. A link that already carries filters (a shared advanced-search link, or a jump from another screen) is respected as-is, so its filters override your default for that visit.

### Can I set different defaults on different devices?

Yes. Because every preference is per device, your laptop can default to *Pending* and hide the *Folder* column while your office desktop defaults to *Submitted* and shows it — each saves independently.

### Turning tooltips off — does it change any data?

No. Tooltips are read-only hover previews (a couple of them offer a quick *Edit* shortcut, but that opens the normal edit modal). Switching a tooltip off only hides the preview and stops the small background lookup it would otherwise make.

### Nothing shows when *Show queued only* is on — is it broken?

Most likely another filter is also active and no queued enquiry matches it, since queued mode combines with the other filters instead of overriding them. Clear the customer / product / status filters and the queued list should appear. If it is still empty, there are simply no enquiries queued right now — the count badge on the menu item confirms how many there are.
